We are looking for a Network & Systems Engineer who is driven by continuous improvements and excited to work in a cross-functional and agile team.
We have some ambitious growth goals, which will see this role working closely with the wider Rural Network Engineering Team to not only maintain our rural wireless broadband network, but create opportunities to optimise and scale how we operate.
What you’ll be doing?
With experience in a wireless broadband / WISP, network engineering, or network administration role, you will support us in operating, maintaining and growing Our rural wireless broadband network and associated infrastructure.
With a big picture focus, you will have an array of opportunities to identify and drive efficiencies through touchpoints such as retrospectives, daily scrums, feedback from key stakeholders, and self-driven discovery.

Key responsibilities within this role include:
Supporting day-to-day operations of the rural wireless broadband network, along with other networks that operates.
Providing engineering expertise in the ongoing evolution and development of technologies, systems and tooling used across the rural network.
Provisioning equipment for complex customer solutions, new 'greenfields’ site builds, ongoing maintenance and service upgrades.
Participating in rural projects through requirements analysis to implementation.
Participating in an after-hours on-call roster, ensuring the health, reliability and availability of our network (more details to be provided, but on average this is every 5-weeks).

What you’ll need to qualify for this role?
This role would suit an engineer with 2-3 years of experience in a wireless broadband/WISP, network engineering, or systems administration role who is looking to grow their engineering skills in a fast-paced commercial environment.
Alongside this you will need;
A good understanding of New Zealand’s telecommunications industry practices, products and services.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills, you need to be interested in technology and be driven to learn about the telecommunication space.
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
A need for flexibility, both in relation to working outside of normal office hours and in meeting the requirements of the position.
